Charlesworth Celebrates Open Access Week 2022: Open for Climate Justice

Welcome to Open Access Week 2022

Open access week is an annual, community-centric celebration of the innovative publishing model, dedicated to keeping the conversation about making publishing, research and results as accessible as possible.

International Open Access Week was founded by SPARC in 2008, and is now organised in partnership with the Open Access Week Advisory Committee.

As the UK’s specialists in academic editing, we believe that keeping you on the cutting edge is important. As a result, we also focus on author education and keeping you up-to-date with industry events that could impact you.

It’s an exciting time to be a researcher, and with our free webinars and articles, we want to help you get on board with Open Access publishing.

The Open Access movement has been growing in recent years. However, the benefits (and challenges) of this publishing model may not be clear to many researchers, including early career researchers (ECRs).

In this webinar, held in celebration of Open Access Week 2022 (24th-30th October), watch our expert panellists discuss both sides of Open Access publishing and share suggestions for how you can successfully submit to an Open Access journal.

This is proving to be a popular webinar, so apply now for your slot before it's too late!

FAQs: Open Access Week 2022

Open Access Week is an annual global community-centric event to spotlight open access publishing (along with the broader principles of open research and open science). The Open Access movement advocates greater access to research work for all, in turn fuelling the acceleration of new research. The theme of Open Access Week 2022 (24-30 October) is Open for Climate Justice.

Since the inception of the Open Access movement around the turn of the millennium, we have been helping research authors globally navigate and succeed in the rapidly developing sphere of Open Access publishing. We do this through various educational channels (articles, webinars and the Researcher Education Portal) as well as through our suite of services designed to help you in your complete research to publication journey. For Open Access Week 2022 too, we have a lot planned (as you can discover on this page): insightful articles, Ask the Experts and bitesize webinars as also special discounts on all our Editing Packages.

The Open Access movement is focused on you, the research author. Being relatively new and rapidly evolving, there are several facets of open access publishing that are not always easy to grasp. We're here to help with our activities for Open Access Week 2022. During Open Access Week 2022, learn about essential aspects of open access through our articles and bitesize webinars, develop your understanding of open access through our Benefits and Challenges Webinar, and if you have a paper close to submission, use the celebration discount on our Editing Packages this month to prepare it for submission to your target journal.
