Dr. Gareth Dyke, head of Content Development and Delivery for The Charlesworth Group, spends lots of his time in Cluj Napoca, Romania. He recently presented talks at Babeș-Bolyai University and met with early career researchers and other colleagues.

 

 

 

Medieval Cluj Napoca, the capital of Transylvania, is one of Romania’s largest cities and certainly one of the most beautiful. Babeș-Bolyai University, named for two notable local scientists, the Romanian bacteriologist Victor Babeș and the Hungarian mathematician János Bolyai. It is one of the five members of the Universitaria Consortium (the group of elite Romanian universities) and is currently ranked the number one higher education institute in Romania. Students in this part of the world are encouraged to develop their publications and presentations in English as key components of their training. At least one peer-reviewed ISI publication in English is standard to receive the award of a PhD
